Dim sum average Their dish may be better They offer pancake and fluffy egg pastry Shrimp paste and takoyaki sauce nooo
My friends and I went to Yue Restaurant for dim sum on an holiday morning. When we got there, most of the tables were taken, however, we were seated without having to wait. We noticed that when we were finished eating, there was a lineup. We ordered the following items: -steamed shrimp dumplings -steamed beef tripe with satay sauce -pan fried turnip cake with Chinese sausage -baked egg tart with milk puff pastry -steamed pork ribs with pumpkin -steamed curry baby cuttlefish -steamed rice rolls with scallop and parsley My friends and I all thought this dim sum place was decent, but not spectacular. The quality of food is comparable with most other dim sum places we've been to in the past. I really enjoyed the steamed curry baby cuttlefish and the steamed rice rolls with scallop and parsley, however, that might simply be personal preference.
This was recommended by friends! This place is busy! Make reservations few days ahead. Parking is free! However, we could not find parking in lot and ended up parking on the street. I'm glad that we had someone in our party of 7 that spoke Chinese. Some did not speak English well. Service was great. Food was delicious! We ordered 2 noodle dishes and 2 vegetable dishes. Along with dim sum dishes. Dishes that were different that have not seen on other menus were bbq bun and matcha bun with egg yolk(dessert) the bbq bun with light sugary topping were delicious that most of our party ordered them to go. Our reservations was on a Saturday at 1130am. Time limit 1.5 hours. Atmosphere open light and clean. Mickey decorated and staff attentive and in uniform. $252 US dollars for the 7 of us including tip and tax. Would definitely go again!
Got a chance to try three different dim sum spots during our recent trip to the Vancouver area. Although I still think that Kirin was the best, Yue was also a solid option. The restaurant was nicely decorated and not too crowded. Service was decent. We had the usual steamed shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai, steamed beef rice rolls, etc. There was also a special on deep fried crab with garlic 避風塘蟹。Everything was tasty and authentic. The stand out was the scallops with crispy taro. This is not usually found in other restaurants. The steamed beef rice rolls were also very good. Will need to come back to try their dinner one of these days. Dim sum is solid and rather delicious.
One of the best dim sum place I've been to for a while, better than San Fransisco Bay area. Made a reservation on the same day for weekday noon after hearing it to be very popular. Baked Thai style durian tart was amazing, tasted very fresh and durian is a great combination with egg tart for anyone who enjoys it. Steamed rice roll with Chinese donut was delicious, the rice roll is just the right amount of tenderness and donut and shrimp fillings tasted great.
Great spot for a quick late dinner. Met up with my dad as he was on a layover in Vancouver. Swooped him up from the airport and got to the spot in no time. No dim sum (lunch only), so got a few dishes. Good, prompt service. Decent amount of parking.
My favorite dim sum place in town! I always make reservation few days prior to visiting so im unsure how long the wait is for walk ins. Quality is always fresh and food comes out fast after you ordered. We also came here for dinner and everything was delicious. Great amount of wok flavor. One of the best restaurant in town and known for one of the best dim sum place as well.
This place is really popular, and it's felt right away as the small parking lot is a struggle to navigate as cars circle around waiting for someone to vacate their spot. As a result, it wasn't a surprise that there was a decent wait to get in without reservations. At the waiting area are some awards they've gotten for specific dishes, a nice hint to order them if you're not sure what to get You can also ask for a menu, so by the time you get to the table, you'll be ready to submit your order into the kitchen. The seating area was typical of a dim sum place, maybe a bit more modern and spacious compared to others I've been to. It was nice and bright, making it a nice area to enjoy a meal. Tea was served immediately after sitting, and that was great. The food was great. I would definitely come back for the food, but make a reservation next time. The tripe was flavorful and easy to eat. Chewy, rubbery tasteless tripe is never good, but this tripe wasn't that. It came with that flavorful broth too. It definitely wasn't spicy though, which I was hoping for. The har gow were good, solid. The shumai were delicious, and that was scarfed down by the table. Almost got more of them, but we already had so much food on the table. The noodles were delicious. I really enjoyed that. Flavorful, and each component of the dish complemented each other. We also got the "Chinese Donut with Shrimp Paste and Takoyaki Sauce" after seeing on plenty of other people's tables. It was good. I enjoyed it. I'd definitely come back.
We went to Yue Restaurant after attempting to go to Kirin then finding out you need reservations even on a Friday morning lol. We were seating immediately with no wait and given a menu completely in Chinese. Thankfully, our waitress could speak English so she helped us with our order. For the usual Siu Mai, har gow, shrimp noodle roll, liu sha bao, some other things and tried a scallop dish our waitress recommended. Everything was so good! I liked that the skin wasn't too thick on the har gow and the flavor was yummy for all items. The liu sha bao was green and delicious! He liked the scallop one, as it had a crunchy nest and beef filling. We'd both never tried it before so it was fun. Great experience overall and no wait at all!
Seriously tasty dim sum place along the famous stretch of Alexandra. Parking is available but quite limited in the lot next to the building. Hopefully you get lucky. Otherwise you're looking at the paid spots on the street. The venue is divided into a larger main room as well as 2 smaller private rooms. This place sure is popular. The entire place was swamped, with a lineup out the door. Claustrophobic may want to avoid this place. The food here is of very good quality I must say. Prices somewhat reflect this, but it is reasonable overall. See pics. Probably one of the best dim sum places in town. Highly recommended.
